Q: What about format? Will my book be available in print and ebook?
A: Each of our titles is published in both print and ebook versions. Depending on the genre and audience some of our books sell better in bookstores, both brick and mortar and online, others as ebooks through the Kindle store.

Q: Do I need an agent to publish with WiDo?
A: No, we are still small enough that we can deal directly with authors. But we will certainly look at agented submissions with as much interest as an author-only submission.
Q: How long before I get an answer about my submission?
A: Our turn around time on new submissions is about four-six weeks.
Q: Do you pay advances?
A: No, but our royalty rates are quite generous at 10% of the retail price of the print book, paid out twice a year. This goes up after sales of 5000 print books. Royalty rate on ebooks is 40%.
Q: How will you market my book once it is published?
A: Each title will have its own marketing plan, depending on the demographic and on the author’s promotion plan. Bookstore distribution is through Ingram, making it available to stores throughout the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. However, it’s up to each bookstore to decide what and how many books they want to stock. A book’s marketing plan begins when it is accepted for publication. The editorial and marketing teams review the author’s promotional plan then determine the demographic of a title and the best way to reach it, involving the author in the process.
Q: How long does the editing process take?
A: This depends on the manuscript and the author, as some manuscripts need more editing than others and authors rewrite in different ways. Your contract will have an approximate publication time, negotiable depending on the pace of editing and revisions, and if satisfactory progress is being made. No manuscript will be published until it is completely and adequately edited to meet our high standards.
